Message: <blockquote data-quote="esgxp" data-source="post: 4784942" data-attributes="member: 597038">Hello everyone I need to pick your brains.  I recently purchased an Equinox with the U65 Pioneer 7 speaker stereo.  It has a 8" sub in the passenger side cargo area, I would like to remove it and put in a JL8w3  and a JL 250/1.  My main question is I don't know the exact airspace of the factory box.  I'm going to remove it tonight and get some measurements.  I think it is around .5 cuft.  Would it be ok to attach a new face made out of mdf and then mount my sub through the trim panel to the mdf?  Do you guys think that the plastic box will withstand a better sub or do I need to make a new box out of mdf?
