Have you used any other epoxy before, and if so, did you notice any really difference in the thick stuff from HL? I have three 18" recones that I need to do...they're pretty high power subs, so I figure I'll need something pretty strong.Hobby Lobby, model car isle where all the glue supplies are for the models. They have thin, medium, thick(not DD thick), and there is a spray activator there too in a white bottle, blue nozzle, with a black sticker and white text. Also while youre at it grab a bottle of the debonder to clean your hands up after wards. Total cost should be around $10.
I have reconed a FI BL 15 with the thick, still holding strong in my friends car.

The recones is already constructed, I just have to do a normal recone consisting of surround and spider gluing. Do you prefer epoxy or a normal CA glue? Is there a real benefit using one over the other? Off the top of your head, how much would I need for a single 18" recone? I've heard 2oz worth for a single 18...is that accurate?Wanting something high strength and cheap usually aren't in the same vocabulary when considering adhesives. If you want to use epoxy, MG Chemicals 832B two-part potting compound is very good. With a tensile strength of over 8000 your cone will give out long before the epoxy will.
