CDT Audio??

I came across this stuff on Woofers etc. I don't know the brand and have seen little in the way of reviews. Are they as good as they look? Overrated? Worth the money? The Cl-62CARS package looks to be the ticket. I just don't know this name. Just don't want to waste $500

entry level CDT is mediocre.

Mid line is pretty good. but they usually just restamp their woofers and tweeters.

I like my CDT mids, but im pretty sure they are Vifa drivers with CDT stickers

they use to be really good...but not anymore atleast i think....look into focal or hertz or if u can snatch up some image dynamics or rainbows...heck build a set of 2 ways and go with some morel or seas or scanspeaks

I bought a pair of M6 mids from the b-stock section on the CDT website and they sounded like ****. I didn't have my doors properly deaden and such so the quality of sound was probably due to a half *** install , but them falling apart after 3-4 months was due to poor product. One spider came unglued from the basket and the other one came unglued at the point where the spider and coil/cone are glued together. TOTAL CRAP for big bucks. Don't buy it.

Im running cdt now. Some of the older products are bomb! excellent sq without being over harsh like ID or others but stuff now is worse. Im running the M6's in my metro. And your right, their just not cutting it. Things wang out at like 50-75hz but nothing from 90-125. Then peak so bad at 150-200ish it causes them to break up too early. And their baffled quite well. I'll be switching them out in place for a pair of Elemental Designs Eu700's.

I noticed that too when i ran them. I had to make some serious use outta the parametric settings on my old kenwood 6042a EQ when i ran those mids.

Agreed! I have an Eclipse CD7000 Hu and luckily i have the parametric. The bands are wayyyy off. and when i finally got them were they sounded good, i lost a lot of db's. Granted its a bassracer with 7k and 8 subs but i need to be able to keep up with that. The CDT tweets do though. TW25's and TW24's on Satnet 490 x overs. One main, one imaging. They can take a butt load and remain clean until clip but the mids are horrible!

on the other hand. My OS US amps usa200x is sick. 100x2@2ohms, 12v is freaking unbelieveable.

Hell yeah. I liked the drt-26 tweets i had. And right now i have 4 brand new ex-470 crossovers for sale and they look to be very nice. They were never used. Little brother bought them for his setup until i talked him into a alpine 9855 and a active setup. Funny thing is he paid for satnet 400's but they shipped ex-470's. LOL. They sell for double the price! Go woofersetc!!!

He is gonna have a nice little setup. Alpine 9855 , zed leviathan , zed kronos , 4 vifa XT tweets (2 ohm stereo on ch 1&2) , 4 8 ohm silver flute mids (two bridged on ch 3&4 , and the other 2 bridged on ch 5&6 , and 4 sundown e8's on the kronos. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/satan.gif.9c6a335ed7aeeed3ee273e573f1fcaac.gif

Need a build log for sure. How are the vifa's?

Don't really know yet , i heard good things about them and i run the cheaper BC models and they are very nice drivers at moderate volume and can really crank out nicely at high volume.
Will take pictures. He is kinda disappointing me though , after spending all of this money he's gonna pass on the deadener. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif It took all i could do to convince him to mount the tweets in the a pillars. I had to explain that he would be wasting his time alignment ability if the tweets were spread around the cab. Just so happens that the rear mids and front mids are exactly the same distance from the ears so time alignment will work perfectly on them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif They should all be up front but he doesn't wanna do pods or custom door panels. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Id snag a set of Eclipse SC8365 3 ways and call it a day. In the end a 2 way system will never keep up with a 3 way system if they are both implemented properly. They can be had for less than half your budget.

Thanks for all the info fellas. I thought I had come across a real deal, I guess not. And that piece was not for just a set of comps it is comps,6.5 coax, amp and a 10"sub. When priced by the piece on the cdt site is $1350. They sell the package for $700. Woofers ect. Has it for $500. It looked too good and as usual, if it looks too good to be true it probably is. I have jut been runnig the current setup for going on 10 years or so and what was good stuff back in the day is no loner the case I'm gathering.
