CD changer for escort??

Can anyone help? Im just about to buy an escort 1.6 LX and i want to fit a 6 CD Changer. Do I need to buy a Head unit and Changer or will the standard ford Head unit be compatible with some changers??

almost any changer will work. you end up just hooking up the changer through the attenna terminal with an RF MODULATOR. this way when u want to play a cd from the changer you tune into a certin station (the station depends on the changer mine is 89.5) and jam away. one down side to this way is that u need to find some where to mount the display screen for the changer. its pretty easy u can usally use two sided tape or if your car has a compartment or indentation in the dash u can mount it steadier (sp). hope this helps
