You need to cut a piece of carpet that will be big enough to wrapped around the entire box and wide enough to over hang each side at LEAST 2 inches. Cut that piece, then, starting on the bottom, glue it down using the same method as before (spraying both the wood and the back of the carpet). However, we want to start this piece in the MIDDLE of the bottom panel. This is where our seam will be.
Now for the carpeting. We will do the sides first. Measure your sides, and then cut your piece of carpet a little bigger both ways. I just simply add about an inch. Then spray your actual side, and also the side of the carpet that will go down on the box. Then put on your carpet and press it firmly down to get all the wrinkles out. I start and the center and work my way out. Make sure there is overhang on all the sides. Here is what it will look like. Do the same thing with the other side, and then we are ready for the rest of the box. There will be 1 seam total on the whole box, so now is when you need to decide where to put it. Obviously, the bottom is the best choice, so thats where we will put it on this box. Dont worry too much on getting this piece laid perfectly straight, it will be trimmed in the end. Just make sure you keep the sides even, or you may run into problems when it comes time to tuck the edges. Peel back the pieces as far as they are not glued down and proceed to glue them down. Then you will have a perfect seam.
