Message: <blockquote data-quote="hispls" data-source="post: 7191147" data-attributes="member: 614752">You may regret running speaker wire direct to the coil on that sub.   I had some done up like that #8 wire from a tow truck jumber cable with a beefy quick connect plug.   Had issues with lead slap and eventually the wire failed at the point where it came through the cone.  Good for burps but normal wire just can't handle being flexed that much and over time will fail.   ALSO when mine went the insulation got very hot where the connection was broken and arcing....probably a fire hazard.<img src="http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g69/hispls/DSC06205.jpg" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" />Before I got this it was being burped with 10KW+, but failed after a month or so of daily playing with around 2K</blockquote>
