I have 2 12" nightshades, bought used with about 20 minutes of play time on 1 of them and ~1 hour or so on the other. (dont know which is which, just what i was told). I got them in and playing today, pretty dam impressive, but 1 gets a LOT warmer than the other, this is with 1500rms to each. (but not pushing anywhere near that, because im afraid of fcking one or both up). Im getting a strong smell from the subs, im assuming its glue, but they arent moving any more than 1" or so because i havent turned them up all the way. how long do you let these babies break in? i think these are the second newest subs ive owned lol i want to see if anyone else with the nightshades notice how warm they get while breaking it. just want to make sure there is nothing wrong with the coils on the one thats getting warm. its definitely a significant difference in temperature between the two, and i believe its the warmer one im smelling
