Just for the record, the guy was correct that stated in Shootfighting you cannot use closed fists. The Shamrock/Rutten fight was a Shootfighting match and they were not allowed to use fists. Ken Shamrock has been against and beat MANY of the Japanese Shootfighting legends back in his hey-day which was basically before the UFC and up to the first UFC in 1993. The fliers were so cheesy that when our BJJ/MT studio received them, they had Royce Gracie's name and stats but Rorion's picture in his place. I won $100.00 on that night betting friends that were in TKD betting on Pat. Ken Shamrock had NEVER fought against a person wearing a Gi, and that is a major reason for his loss against Royce. Royce would have had some seriously full hands had he not had his Gi on. For future betting purposes, you should bet on Rich Franklin, he's working really hard on advanced counters and he's very intuitive and quick. I'd like to see a match between Rich and Wanderlei. If you are close to Oklahoma City and want to practice, drop a line.
