I know that I would like a ported enclosure, but would like to keep the tuning pretty low so that I get the deeeeep bass that carries forever. I was told at the stereo store that a 2 foot box tuned to 34hz would be awesome, but I think I want a bigger box, somewhere around 2.5-3 cubes and tuning closer to 28-29hz. I would be able to figure this out myself on WinISD, but since I have no idea on the specs, I can't put them into the program. Would it work to put in the specs for the SX and then make the port about the same as it would be for that sub, or does replacing the voice coil affect the tuning quite a bit? If it is possible, could you let me know the specs of the SX so I can go from there, otherwise, please help me figure out what the port size will need to be for this sub. Also, if anyone has any other suggestions, let me know. Thanks.
Hey guys, sorry I have to ask this as a new thread, but I couldn't figure it out through searching. I bought a special RE sub about 2 months ago and have had it sitting in my room waiting for my new car. It is an SX with an SE coil in it. It didn't come with any parameters or power rating information, but the guy that sold me it said that it would take about 1,000 watts, so I'm planning on buying a Hifonics 1500 today. The car is a 95' talon tsi, so it has a good deal of hatch space. i would like some help figuring out the port size I'll need for the box. Also, if anyone has any other suggestions, let me know. Thanks.
