Message: <blockquote data-quote="headless" data-source="post: 2502069" data-attributes="member: 566363"><p>Wire the DVM in series (or if you're lucky enough to have a clamp style dvm, use the clamp set to dc amps) and see how much current is flowing through the positive wire to the amp while it's on but not connected to any speaker. Should be under 2amps.  If more, you've got a partial short, likely internal to the amp.</p></blockquote><p></p>
