This was at a time when I knew very little about car audio so please take this into account. I had the sub wired to Dual 2, as you can see on the chart. I had the sub hooked up to a 3k wRms amp. I had a stock 140 amp alt, the big 3, and only (2) Kinetik HC600. I had the amp gains set 75-85% up, bass boost 75-85%. I would keep the volume around ~50%. My voltage would drop to around 11.8 or so. I turned it up a few times and my voltage would dip to 10.8 so I knew I had a problem. So I had decided I was going to keep the volume down until my friend could re-wire the sub to quad 1. Before I could get that accomplished, I blew it with the help of my nephew. I left the car running, with him in it, at a friends houses for approx 10 mins or so. I guess he got bored and decided to turn my radio up. I heard the bass from inside the house, and it sounded pretty loud. All of a sudden I heard the bass get much much louder and deeper. I said "wtf" and ran outside to find him out of the car. It scared him, anyway, by the time I got to the car i could smell stink. I looked at the voltage, and for some reason I can't explain, the voltage was reading 14.2, so I immediately cut the car off and opened the trunk to find a stinking sub. I immediately checked the sub and the cone still moved but I could feel some VC rub. I checked the coils later on and only one of the quad coils gave a reading. There's the background on it. Needless to say, I educated myself more on car audio afterwords. Also before I get flamed, I'm fully aware of my mistakes and that it was "user error". Thanks. Now, someone buy it please, lol.

[QUOTE="smalltown, post: 6473035, member: 607248"] I'll go ahead and kill your curiosity. If you are familiar with these subs, then you know they are a little different from most other subs wiring config-wise. Here's a diagram.
