Anybody ever use their products? They seem to be relatively low end/bargain basement to me, alot of people who run Porsche's like mine (older/not so expensive) use it and personally I wouldn't ever buy something like that... Am I missing anything?

Their clear line of speakers / subwoofers was possibly the biggest flop in car audio, they had retailers practically giving the stuff away because it was so horrible.

believe it or not, thats a 12" subwoofer 600 watts max, 400 rms

just horrible, I bet the marketing guy was taken out back and shot for that one.

Ferraris' stock sound systems definitely don't use off the shelf Blaupunkt parts, but their stock systems are horrible (like worse than a $20,000 car's system).

My friend has a porsche 944 turbo with a blaupunkt HU. Not sure if it came with the car though since he got it used. But I have never had any good experiances with any of their products. But they did come out with that funny commercial:naughty:

Yah, I always fiured they ******.

Back in the day, when I was a little n00bx, it was my dream to outfit my project 85 Jetta GL diesel with blaupunkt blues and a Blaupunkt mp3 player.... Glad i didn't.

Blaupunkt OEM and Blaupunkt aftermarket are two different beasts. Blaupunkt seems on the way out of the aftermarket business.

Ferrari uses Becker, who is owned by Harman International. Some Ferraris have Sony decks (older ones).

Some of the BMWs use either an Alpine sourced or Pioneer sourced head unit. Not sure about the Blaupunkts, but the few I saw at the radio repair shop I worked at were not Blaupunkt with a few rare exceptions.

my buddy had an old blaupunkt deck in his early '70s mustang coupe with a pair of original jensen tri-axles (mid 80's). it sounded f-ing awsome, almost like there was a small sub being powered. not just loud but had SQ also. maybe it was just the right vehicle to put that combo in but it rocked.
