If you dont know how to ride well in traffic, this bike will mess you up...real fast. Obviously a Cr80 or a Nighthawk doesnt not even compare to the power of an R1. But, if you've actually ridden your buddies bikes a lot then I say go for it. But most seasoned riders will tell you its best to have at least 3 seasons under your belt before moving up to one of these things.Also, someone pointed out gas mileage. An R1 will get around 40-45 mpg...the Civic is rated 38, 50 if you get the hybrid. It's more, but nothing to make a decision based on.</blockquote>
