I have a '99 Mazda 626, and I just put in a Kicker ZX1000.1 with two type r's wired at 2 ohms, so that's 1200 watts MAX, probably more like 900. The car runs fine, and I believe the lights just stay dim when the amp is on (hard to really tell, I don't get dimming when the subs hit, so I'm guessing they just stay dim), although I have a feelign the atlernator is working hella hard to sustain all the electricals. I added a 4 gauge ground wire to the crappy metal plate that the 626 uses to ground things (sanded that shit down). Besides the wire, electrical is stock with the exception of a replacement battery, which is some energizer standard car battery, nothing really special. I guess we're gonna have to see if the car explodes anytime soon, cause I really don't have the money for a better battery, or HO alternator for that matter right now, and wiring the rest of the big 3 is admittedly too much work on the mazda (yay engineers). How much is a good battery for car audio, anyways?
