I am planning a pretty extensive overhaul of my system in my car once the weather cools down. I have never done the big 3 on my car ('01 Mustang GT) mostly because I just haven't needed it. So I was cleaning my engine compartement out a little yesterday and I looked into what I'm going to have to do to complete the big 3 on my car. Well to make a long story short it looks like a pain in the ***. The power and ground off of the battery both are wrapped in a tube and go under the engine (to the firewall presumably). The lead from the alternator has a weird spark-plug boot on it that would never, ever fit onto 1/0 wire My problem is that I would want it to look as close to stock as possible, and I would like to retain the weather protection that the manufacturer put on the wires as I believe such things are there for a good reason. Does anyone know if you can obtain the plastic tube wrap that covers the wires? This stuff is most deffinately built differently then the stuff you find at an office max or something.
