If you can do without passive crossovers, or are willing to have them designed for you, go to Solen.com. This is my first on this site so maybe everyone knows the site. If you haven't, Solen, like others including Madisound, sell raw drivers and passive crossover parts mainly to the DIY homespeaker crowd. I just noticed that Solen offers a list of "home speaker" drivers that work(fit) in cars. This list includes morel, scanspeak, and max fidelity(poor man's dynaudio). Included are some other brands that are less well know to the car audio enthusiast. If your willing to go fully active with your crossovers, this is really all you need. But if you want to go active, both Solen and Madisound will design passive crossovers for you using LEAP design progam, which is just about as sophisticated as one can get short of having you own anechoic chamber. After the recent theft of my old system, I'm starting from scratch. So far I've got a prair of Dynaudio 15W75's (5 1/4") mids, Scan Speak 7"'s, and tweeters are still undecided. I've considered the Dynaudio car audio tweets and the Focal T51's. If anyone has a suggestion I'd appreciate it. I think I might go the active(electronic) crossover route. My install locations for the 5" and tweeter are aftermarker knick panel locations. The 7's will go in the doors of my Jeep Grand Cherokee, keeping all three as close to each other as possible. My sub, only one, is an Eclipse 8712.4, the poly model. Amps are still undecided though I'm considering a Butler tube model for the mid's and high's. Holy crap, I just wrote a nocel. Any thoughts, suggestions are appreciated.
