Yes cable does connect to a central hub and you share with other users which then goes to the CO and backbone. If they have enough hubs you will never notice a slow down, I live in a subdivision with 5mbps Charter and have never seen speeds slow down at any time. With fios or any other connection you may directly connect to the CO, but guess what they do there? Combine all traffic and put it to the backbone, same thing but the combination happens in a different area, so if theres huge traffic loads, it will slow down just the same as cable will. Also, the big cable companies like Charter and Comcast have been using fiber for their networks for many years now, its nothing that Verizon or ATT are doing new there.</p></blockquote><p></p>
