[QUOTE="T9X, post: 852726, member: 560455"] In just about every other thread I click on, there is someone asking "What setup should I get?" without giving any details. We can list subwoofers and amplifers all day long but they may not fit what you're looking for at all. We need some details about you, your preferences, and your vehicle before we can help you. 1.) What kind of music do you listen to? If you listen to rap and just want something that'll go 'boom' really loud, we would suggest something different than if you listen to say classical or rock. 2.) What are you looking for an a subwoofer? Do you want competition SPL? Smooth sound quality? Maybe a mix of both? 3.) Do you already have an amplifier you plan on using or do you need one to go with your new subwoofer? If you already have one, please provide us with the make, model, and specs. 4.) What kind of vehicle is your setup going into and how much room are you willing to give up? 5.) Do you have a budget? How much is it? Does this include just the subwoofer? Subwoofer and amplifier combo? 6.) Do you have a woofer size preference? 7.) Do you prefer to run an single or multiple woofer setup? 8.) Do you have an enclosure preference? Some subwoofer perform better in sealed enclosures vs. ported enclosures and vice versa. 9.) Do you have a stock or upgraded electrical system? Larger amplifiers draw more current from your electrical system and some stock systems can't handle it without having problems/side effects such as light dimming. 10.) Do you have any objections to buying from eBay, internet companies or board members? You can usually find things cheaper online rather than through your local dealer but sometimes you sacrifice a warrenty. If this could get a sticky so we don't keep hounding people for details, that would be great.
