If I am going to have a box for a sub then I may as well segment it out rather than try to find some 4x10's to replace the ones that go in the ceiling that will never sound good anyway. So my questions are as follows.</p><p></p><p>The Polk are rated at 2.7 ohm- Will the Memphis power them adequately? If so I can use it to run the dash and rear doors. I was hoping to run those parallel but that would drop the impedance to low for the Memphis amp correct? If so I will have to dedicate that amp to those four speakers.</p><p></p><p>Is the idea of one 10" and a pair of mid bass speakers in the back a good way to go? If so I want a sub that will work with a somewhat broad range of music and won't require a huge box. I'm thinking sealed versus ported. Does that sound right? What speakers would someone recommend for this application. What would be a good amp for this application that would be able to seperate things out for the sub and the mids?</p><p></p><p>Should I ditch the idea of the mid bass speakers and try to fit some 6x9's in place of the 4x10's in the ceiling or possibly some 4" or maybe 5 1/4" up there?</p><p></p><p>I don't need a world class system, I just want everything to be clean, smooth and definetely not tinny sounding. I don't want to spend a ton of money but if I can get by with the Blaupunkt for a while and I already have the Memphis I can pick up the Polks and roll with that as I aquire pieces for the back. I am not dead set on the Polks either but the prices are decent and the ratings are good. I listen to everything from NO/FX, Metallica, Scorpions to Jimmy Buffet, Kenney Chesney, Willie Nelson as well as musicals like Les Miserable and The Phantom of the Opera.
