[QUOTE="skysurfer, post: 1203253, member: 563940"] I bought a sweet custom expedition last may and the guy left an avi-n1 nav/dvd/cd unit in it which i thought he was nuts for. well, maybe now i realize why he did it? the gps function has actually gotten me lost. i never rely on it cuz it typically will take me out of the way on backroads sometimes instead of highways (and yes it's set on the fastest route). and it's not uncommon for it to just place me on roads that i'm not even on (but they are close by). you would think this is happening from a weak signal but it's not. the gps just has a mind of it's own... and it likes to mess with me! what's up with it? is it just junk?? other than the gps functions it's a great unit. very nice screen quality and good sound quality. but the gps function is what i was most looking forward to. i also checked out pioneers sight but they didn't have any upgrades for the software. only a GPS map update for $275. why should you have to pay for an update ($275) for a head unit that already costs $2,000!?!?!? the nav CDs i have are CNDV-40M any help would really be appreciated.
