May also want to note a few pawn shops carrying New IN BOX MA Audio- Seigles Pawn, 1 st Avenue Pawn/Electronics, Granite City Pawn Shop and Collectibles, Mister Money USA.</p><p></p><p>As for the comparrison, it is odd that you offer MA Audio against Memphis' LVS model, considering the LVS is known to have several design flaws with its Backplate and Former, thus contributing to its poor performance. This was discoverd by Memphis and they accepted many returns of this model in favor of thier other products. Every company has thier share of bad products, however MA Audio (Mobile Authority, Anaba-etc) has had far too many to be considered credible or reliable without some skeptism/critisism from the dedicated audiophile.</p><p></p><p>Therefore, I find it strange that you would compare MA Audio to a woofer that has a known, and publicly admitted flaw, rather than to the Infinity Pefect itself.</p><p></p><p>I will admit, that yes- MA Audio is far superior to thier Mobile Authority Days, and they are heading in the right direction, however, they currently can not compare to the reliability, credibility, or proven successful track record of Infinity. Infinity is manufactured by Harmon-Kardon, a long time Industry Giant known for thier well designed products and impressive sound. Harmon has won numerous awards in both home and car audio industries.</p><p></p><p>I have had direct experience with both brands, MA and Infinity; The Infinity In my own car, and the MA in a few cars that I have installed in. It does not make logical sense to comment on a product without experience with it, so I will put that to rest right away also.</p><p></p><p>The Infinity Perfect 12.1 Easily took the upperhand in SQ and SPL output over the MA Audio MAW612. Each set of woofers was in thier reccomended sealed enclosure and fairly equally powered. The Infinity's from a Rockford Fosgate bd1000.1 and the MA's from a JBL BP1200.1. Crossover frequencies were set equally at 62Hz- an acceptable level for an SQ Vehicle.</p><p></p><p>The installs in both were designed primarily for SQ competition subject to IASCA guidlines and audible testing from the IASCA Competition Disc.</p><p></p><p>Both woofers handled the tests, however the MA left quite a bit to be lacking in the area's of Clear, detailed, accurate bass.</p><p></p><p>Also there was a substantial ammount of cone noise from the woofer causing undesired distortion and musical break up.</p><p></p><p>The MA's did hit hard, but lacked the musical characteristics needed for a decent sound.</p><p></p><p>The Infinity's on the other hand, did exceptionally well, not even strugling on the low excursion tests, or the tight punches on "Moon With the Rebel Base." -(which BTW- I have found to be an excellent reference recording for tuning systems- that and the THX sound Tests) Zero Distortion, total clarity and accurate response, and very hard hitting.</p><p></p><p>I even attempted to swap the amps arround to be sure that this was not amplifier induced. Even with this change, the Infinity's far surpassed the MA's.</p><p></p><p>Honestly, there was no real competition between the two, the difference was very much night and day with the Perfects comming out on top.</p><p></p><p>MA Audio Admitedly says that thier woofers are more so engineered for SPL applications, however, it seems that they have a little more research to do before they can keep up with the Infinity's on the overall.</p><p></p><p>Prior Installs that I have done useing MA amplifiers, have had nothing but disastrous results. Not a one of thier amps puts out anything close to what the ratings are- likely half the rating is more like it. Mabey some of thier amps were able to put out 4000 watts at 1 ohm- but at what current- and for how long? That is one thing that is very much neglected to be mentioned with thier ratings. Each amplifier of MA's that was installed either suffered from severe overheating, total lack of output, heavy noise, or general failure.</p><p></p><p>I make my recommendations soley based on my experience and available information. There for until MA can boost thier quality considerably, I can not reccomend to anyone a product with poor reliability, and known problems.</p><p></p><p>I would suggest that others here need to do a little more research also, before "bashing" other members of this forum.
