[QUOTE="audiolife, post: 885430, member: 541383"] lol i know a helllll of alot more about the business side of it than you think. one model isnt what i was talking about. low level lines as a whole say like 4 subs and a 3-4 amp line if not delt with seperately can effect customer perception. example ppi sedona, hifonics american warrior, brutus, and zues lines. people who had bad luck with these associate these with there better lines. the reps and companies will talk about how they want their lines presented to the public. as an example alot of people think all hifonics are junk because they had bad luck with their "economy" models . their real good amps like the "gen xx" series are alot different than the lowwer lines. if you have bad luck with a cheap amp from a company do you think they would spend 45%-100% more for the high lines? alot wont. people will run high level woofers with mediocre amps and try to push their systems like its a premium power amp.....it wasnt designed to be that way. scarey part is the vast majority work in these systems but they take a hit because their failure rate goes up which pisses customers off. from a customer perception stand point it is a real product evaluation problem because noone guides them with an on line sale. they see 1500 watts hifonics for 220 bucks and figure "hell yes, ill use this" to drive 100 lbs of premuim woofers at 1 ohm. the cheaper amps are one ohm stable but the quality of the parts dictate its ability to deliver the goods day in and day out because these amps are pushed harder than they are designed to be. companies like jl have a large enough store base that it makes it really hard for product perception to look bad this way..which is a great thing only thing you really hear about is the product priceing.....on that aspect they are really great due to the fact everyone associated with them makes money and in that reguard make them a wanted line to carry. stores will actually fight over getting the line. its good product that everyones heard of and wants. im not dogging hifonics at all just using them as an example of how their perception gets twisted.
