The difference seems to be th LOC offers a time delayed remote turn on lead,  from the loc as well. In my experience I have found both brands to work well, maybe with a slight edge going to PAC. As far as installing you can tap the speaker wires in the rear to get your left and right signal, then rca's to the amp. I imagine with the PAC you would need to connect a 12v source as well.
