Hi all been a while. I have a 2014 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab. Currently I have a cheapo pre-fab 1 cuft sealed box with two Fosgate Punch 10" shallow mount woofers. Running around 800 watts RMS to the pair, down firing. This thing: The bass is very peaky around 100hz with almost no low end extension, it sounds just like the box is too small for subs. I've been messing with amp / eq setting for a year now and just can't get the sound I want. I want to get low. I came across a better quality, ported sub box here: https://www.soundoffaudio.com/ported-dual-sub-box-2005-2016-frontier-crew/ It is advertised as also being 1 cuft, ported to 39hz, for two 8" subs. Here is my dilemma. That still seems too small, especially ported. I can't find any 8" subs that would be happy in .5 cuft ported. So, assuming I am using that box, which would be better: Two 8" subs like the Skar VD-8 https://www.skaraudio.com/products/vd-8-inch-car-subwoofer One 8" sub that has the whole box to itself? What about two 6.5" subs like the Skar EVL-65? https://www.skaraudio.com/products/evl-65-inch-car-subwoofer?variant=18454532865 I just don't know if my issue is due to the subs down firing or the box size or what. What would you do? -Beau
