you guys cant seriously blame fedex. i work for fedex and we have strict rules for shipping packages. specailly if its heavy, you have to realize that in order for packages to move across the country in less 3-4 days (ground) they need to be able to withstand being dropped from at least 5feet and thrown a few feet as well. dont ever blame the shipping company, blame the packager who packaged your item. we ship thousands of pieces of freight each day at my station from companies like sony, atmel, jds uniphase, sun...etc. i throw/stack at least 20-30 $30,000 Sony HD studio quality movie cameras everyday and they are packaged to handle the abuse, or else they would not be shipped with us anymore. looking at the packaging posted above it looks like the packager did a shotty job. packaging peanuts dont prevent movement... but like i said, you have to make sure your packages do not move around/shift inside their boxes, otherwise it is prone to be damaged during the shipping process. let me give you some insight...at my station we ship about 13-15,000 overnight, 2nd day packages in a span of 2 hours. alot of these packages weigh between 50-200lb sometimes and if you expect it to get from coast to coast overnight they must be packaged well to handle the abuse from shipping. the station i work at is just a tiny station compared to the ones at most airports...so if we're doing 13-15,000 in just a span of 2 hours, expect the larger stations to be doing upwards of 50,000 within 2 hours. dont blame the shipping company, blame the packager
