Today while I was driving around my system started acting up. I will try to explain this as detailed as I can in order for someone to make heads or tails on this situation. Amp: Hifonics TXi 6008 HU: Pioneer DEH4800MP When I mean acting up, the bass (subs) would just stop playing while the music would still be playing. However, it wasn't like I was playing it full tilt and then the amp or subs just cut-out. When I would change songs that's when I noticed the problem. But, after about 5 sec it would kick back in and then be fine. This happened about 2 times earlier today. Now, just about 30min ago, when I started up my car to head out for food I turned the volume up (not anywhere close to full tilt...maybe just loud enough where bass is slightly audible) and began to pull out of my driveway. I changed songs then low and behold, it happened once again...no bass. So now I'm like "WTF?" since the amp and subs have been running flawless for seriously almost 2 years. I pull back into my driveway and get out to check the subs and amp to see what the heck is going on. Right off the bat I notice the amp isn't even on. The lights weren't even illuminated. So I say "Okay, I figured this would happen. Let's check the protect light to see if it's on" I look over to see if the protect light is on, and THAT even isn't illuminated. Now I'm just puzzled since even the protect light didn't even go off. So far I checked my grounds...Fine. --- Power Wire (and battery connection)...Fine. --- RCA's...Fine But, when I went to finagle with the Remote Turn-On wire on the amp I got some clues. I unscrewed the turn-on wire and then screwed it back in and the lights lit up for a split second then turned back off. I did this about 5-6 times and the same thing happened each time...The light would flash, then shut-off. Same thing happened when I turn on and off the headunit...it would flash for split second when I power the HU on and then the amp lights would shut off. I have yet to check the sub wiring to see if that could possibly be a problem as well. I'll take a look at it after I'm done eating. But for now, does anyone have any thoughts on the problem? I'm just puzzled since the amp has been flawless for almost 2 years and it just started acting up now. Any insight appreciated.
