[QUOTE="borntorun, post: 428288, member: 551629"] i know, this is another one of those threads, but searching turned up no solution. we have a phoenix gold sub wired to 2ohms on a power acoustik amp. everything has been going great for a few months now, but tonight we had a problem. first of all, the amp does not have a protection light...so im kind of in the dark as to if it is shutting down, or not. loading/unloading things into the back of the vehicle the amp was bumped while the vehicle was off. turned the vehicle on, and the sub was on for a second, then cut out. the blue neon light on the amp is on, but there is no sound. there is sound coming from the headunit to the door speakers, but nothing coming from the subwoofer amp. the connections are good, it does have ground, 12v, and remote, because disconnecting any of these results in the amp light turning completely off. the fuses are also good. i have disconnected and reconnected all of the wiring from the amp, and from the sub. i didnt try a different ground location, because i dont think this is the problem (again, the light does come on), and i havent touched any connections in the back of the headunit because i know it has to be somewhere around the amp. seems like the amp is grounding out somewhere and going into protection mode...doesnt it?
