Hello. I am having a problem with my subwoofer amp. My setup: JVC KD-HDW10 head unit, sub preamp output (Getting old but has HD Radio and rear aux in) SONY Xplod XM-502Z amplifier 2/1 channel 250W max ($20 Craigslist deal. Had a few months) 10" Visonik sub (Friend gave it to me) Also 4x 4" Kicker coaxials running off head unit amp. The other day on a long drive, my sub stopped working. I assumed the amp overheated and shutdown because the temperature was over 100 degrees and my car does not have A/C. However, the sub has not worked since then. I tried troubleshooting yesterday and the amp turns on (status light is green and it warms up) but there is no output. I tried wiring the amp using the speaker level inputs but still got nothing. I am not sure how to test if the radio is outputting, if the amp is amplifying, or if the sub itself is dead. I have tried different RCA cables, I've cleared all radio settings and re configured, checked and redid all amp wiring. Today I took the amp apart and went over both sides of the board. I do not see any burned, melted, blackened components nor does it smell. Are there any other things I should check? I really miss my bass.. 4" speakers have none at all.
