So I just got a brand new set up and I have installed multiple systems before and never had this problem. I have a 2011 Malibu with the 2.4l motor. I have a 102 amp alternator. I have my radio hardwired straight to the battery with the amp wire connected to the power of the radio and a flip switch in the middle to turn it on/off. I have 2 gauge power and ground wire to the amp. This system hit extremely hard and would stand a girls hair up when the stood behind the trunk fairly close. Now it’s super quiet and when I turn it up so loud it goes into protect mode. I fixed my bug ground on the amp and it helped a little bit. I then fixed the ground at the battery for the radio and it fixed my problem for about 2 seconds and then went back to what it was doing. When I used a voltmeter there is drop down to almost 8 volts when it hits hard at the power and ground at the amp. It’s running one OHM. Does anyone have an idea on what it could be? Possible the alternator? I’m at a loss right now
