It's true that some of us have found components that go for less than the C5 that (to our ears) are better. One thing you would do yourself well to learn in this hobby (and EARLY ON) is that it's an exercise in futility when you start looking at the "better than" game. It sounds to me like you asked around and people told you JL was the way to go and there's nothing wrong with that. Is JL a little on the pricey side? You bet. Doesn't mean you don't always get what you pay for, though, and the C5 isn't a bad set at all...so long as they get the attention to install quality that they need. Just slap them on doors in stock locations and I'm pretty sure you're going to end up massively underwhelmed by them. Take some time to go through the forum and read up on treating (deadening) your doors and you'll do yourself a world of good. Both the MS and P660C are great component sets for the money, but there's a reason you don't see comparisons between them and the JLs and it's not because one's better than the other. Aside from the fact they're both components, it's complete apples vs oranges. Best thing you can do for yourself is audition as many speakers sets as you can before you make a purchase. Get an idea for what you do and what you don't like. Also, those W3s sealed may leave you underwhelmed. I would say you could find one of the right 12" sub, put it in a properly-designed ported enclosure, and still take up the same volume as the two 10s would. Something like the Dayton HO, for instance (GIYF).
