Message: <blockquote data-quote="tcoughlin5" data-source="post: 1788531" data-attributes="member: 568256">I just removed the stock tape deck from my 98 Toyota Corolla and am putting in an older Alpine deck (dont recall model off the top of my head) This is my 3rd or 4th install and I'm positive all my wiring is correct, but the HU wont turn on in accessory or when the car is started.My question is: when I pulled the Alpine deck from my old car the red wire (accessory) had a fuse spliced on it which I have never seen before and well as the yellow wire (memory) has a chip on it.  My newer panasonic deck didnt have either of these and it goes to accessory and recalls all my settings, so im guessing older decks need the fuse and chip to function?  So where did I go wrong in this install?</blockquote>
