27hz tuning might be your problem or part of it. Volume and port area seems OK. You mean to say you can't play a few sine waves at max power and get a steady AC voltage reading across the speaker terminals of that amp (be super careful not to short the DMM probes!)? Just checking voltage should give you an idea of if you need more gain or a pre-amp. I've heard reports that Brazilian amps like a very strong input signal (5-8V). By all accounts that amp should be making a lot of power for you. 16V is a TERRIBLE idea. You're literally doubling the cost of batteries (or more) which need replacing every 3-4 years anyway for what? 25% more power than the same amps would do at 12V? Buying a second Taramps 20K + doubling your current battery bank would be less money than just ramping up a battery bank to run 20K some other way. I'd guess that just doubling up your current battery bank NOW would get a lot more power out of that amp. I don't even recall seeing it but I'm sure it can't be enough. The point being a good amp will last for a decade, a couple more Z's would last even longer... batteries will last 4 years if they're great batteries and you're lucky. Not a particulalry sound investment. Hell, even going to dual or triple alternator would likely be more bang for your buck. OR invest in super cap bank. Electrolytic caps should last well over 10 years. In short, 16 V battery bank will be a worse move than dealing with Tantric! And seriously, kid, don't come on here bragging about pretty girls with no pics for proof. Might could well be they were a couple 350 pound beefalos or possibly trannys I saw you over on /b/ looking at all those chix with dix threads..
