I just bought a 93 Suburban with a non-working radio. I am going to get a new head unit this week, probably from best buy. The budget for the entire system is probably under 400 or so, but that is over time. This is my camping rig so it doesn't need to be to great but I'd like it to be decent. I am eventually going to get new door speakers, and probably a single 12, and I'm leaning towards the type R. If you guys could give me recommendations on a reliable decent 12 with a good matching amp that would be great. For the Head unit which I was going to buy in the next few days these are my choices. It won't let me post URL's because this is my first post or something so this is all from the best buy website. 1. Sony CDXGT350MP - 52 watts peak power x 4 channels (17 watts x 4 RMS) Axillary input, 2 Preamp outputs, EQ presets With high- and low-pass filters allow for customized sound? - Downfall no USB $89 2. JVC KDR320 - Subwoofer crossover, variable brightness and high-pass filter 1 preamp output (2.5V) Front- and rear-mount auxiliary inputs Downfall - No USB one preamp output $70 3. Pioneer DEH-3300UB - Front Aux - One Preamp Output - USB - 5 EQ modes 99$ There are a few other similar ones but it looks like I can save about 10-20$ for no USB hook up. I just want a head unit that has auxillary and it would be nice to have USB. It also needs to be compatible with a sub which means it needs preamp outputs and a high/low filter? I am a little confused on exactly what I need but from what I have gathered the Sony seems the best with its high low filters and two preamp outputs, what are your thoughts? Also for the sub / amp combo let me know!
