I'm currently running a Bandpass Box with a 12 inch kicker comp inside along with an Exterminator amp feeding the sub 300 watts rms. I would now like to upgrade to a better quality box and sub that can take around 500 watts RMS. I listen to mostly Hip hop, but also listen to funk, disco, and oldies. I like strong low end bass and at least decent thump Bass. I am looking into the Alpine SWR-12D4 Type-R 12" in ported box like this one Amazon.com : R/T 300 Enclosure Series -318-12 Alpine - Single 12-Inch Slot Vented Sub Bass Hatchback Speaker Box with Labyrinth Power Port for Alpine Subs : Vehicle Subwoofer Boxes : Car Electronics. Main concern is that I would like to know if I would be able to get somewhat of a decent Thump(That kickdrum type bass) with the Alpine setup that i just mentioned? Because with this sub and box seeing in the picture, i hardly get any thump bass, Just boomy.
