New here and looking for a bit of advice. Just installed a 2ch amplifier in my van, 85W RMS @ 2OHM and 65W RMS @ 4OHM. It’ll be plenty loud enough for me as my mate has a 40W RMS amp which I can’t listen too at full volume as it deafens me! I’m currently using some 6OHM house speakers but these are only 1 way and when the bass is going the vocals are pretty much inaudible as the speaker struggles to do both jobs at once. I’ve got some 3 way 6x9s, 70W RMS @ 4OHM but I’ve also been looking into some high wattage and low impedance house speakers. The house speakers are already in boxes which is a bonus as there is nowhere to mount any “free air” speakers. If I went the 6x9 route, I would have to put them in an enclosure, as I mentioned above, there is nowhere to install them. I’ve read that 6x9s are pretty much always “free air” and putting them in an enclosure actually reduces their performance. So really what I’m wanting to know is which setup would give me the best sort of sound? 2 100W RMS 3 way house speakers @ 6OHM or 2 70W RMS 3 way 6x9 in enclosures (the enclosures will be 2 of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/6x9-Speaker-Enclosure-BLACK-Carpet/dp/B00BAWYFQC/ref=asc_df_B00BAWYFQC/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=214458080830&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15974641309954595389&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=t&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9046387&hvtargid=aud-548500765412:pla-700501102228&psc=1) Ideally looking for plenty of bass but ideally wanting to hear the vocals at the same time!
