go to http://www.mirc.com

download the program, install it, and open it

Go to connect options (it should load up automatically), enter your nickname and alternative nickname, and click invisble mode.

Then change the IRC Network to EFnet.

In the drop down box below that, find an EFnet server in the US near you. Click ok, then go to File, then Connect. If you can't connect, try another server in the US until you can connect.

Once you are connected, go to Commands, then Join Channel, and put in #rapmp3z

Basically, you get albums on IRC through bots. Every 5 minutes or so, each bot will make a list of the albums they have that you can download off them. Each bot will have a unique screen name, and each albums will have its own number (called a pack)

You will see something like this:

hey, thanks for the info on how to use it, i have one question, how do i know if i am downloading or not, i did it like you said, but the only thing i can find that changes is "Ping? Pong!' on the status screen? idk if its working or not

Nothing is going to change in the status screen...

When you go in the channel, after you send the request to a bot that has the album, what happens? Make sure you didn't send the request that listed above, you have to plug in the info for the correct bot and the correct pack...

If you find a bot that has a slot open, you should receive a Get-File request, and hit OK, and a window should pop up displaying the download status. If the bot has no slots open, you will be queued until a slot opens, so nothing will change until that happens, which can be a long time depending on the queue list.

i got this message on the status screen "DCC Send from RMZ-058 rejected (Governor_Ft_50_Cent-My_Life_My_Life(Vls)-2002-WHOA.tar, file type ignored)" on my DCC options i made it so ONLY the check boxes lables "get" are selected, this is correct right? it said 20 spot of 20 are open

hey Gauntlet....im pretty confused, I got gonnected to the channel and I see those "packs" mixed in with a whole bunch of user log in's and such, but i cannot make much sence out of it as it rapidly scrolls through the screens. I understand i need to somehow search for the bot with the album i want, but how do I search? i already have it, but lets use get rich or die tryin as an example, after I login to the channle, what should i do from there?

Just move the scrollbar up to the bot you are looking at it and it will stop scrolling, it will make a beep everytime a new line of text is entered into the room. Then you can view the line code the bot lists to get albums from him, then put in the correct pack # and youre good to go

It's actually incredibly easy and very fast once you get the hang of it....I will never go back to KaZaa.

As I said, when you see a bot list albums, move the scrollbar up and it will stop scrolling and you can look at everything and decide what you want to dl....
