2x SEs vs XXX

which would be louder? 2 RE SE 12's or 1 XXX 12. The SE's are in about a 3.0cuft sealed box. The XXX would be in about a 3.0cu ft ported box tuned to 30something hz.

yes, it's pretty loud. a few songs will even hurt your ears.

Um.. the XXX will be louder. My DD 9512 will even be louder if you're interested. It's the same price as the XXX, I will sell it for $400 shipped.

actually i hear from RE themselves that the se's would be louder (same box that is) - port the se box or sell your se.s and get a new 2k4 model XXX

depends on many install factors as always

1. which model SE's and which model X X X

2. power

3. box

in theory 2 se's = twice cone area. however, the x x xhas by far a bigger moving stroke and uses xbl2 with which, at least on paper, its difficult to argue against.

also consider the weight - 1 12 x will weigh a lil less IIRC corectly than 2 SE's.

i would personally do the X in this applicsation.
