I'm planning on ordering one any day now. I've been looking for a midsize for a year now, and this is by far the best combination of power (more than any other new midsize truck) and fuel efficiency. I have a 1993 Ranger, and it's not bad, and I've test driven the new Dakotas, Rangers, and Frontiers, and they are nothing compared to it. I'm planning on getting a ZQ8 extended cab with the 5 cyclinder. They look sharp. The one downfall, Loaded, the sport extended cab runs in the $25K range, wheras the competion runs around $21K. But, I get a GMC discount, which brings the price down to $22k, otherwise, it would be hard to warrant the $4K-$5K difference for same class trucks. If you could wait, next year (I believe) their is supposed to be a brand new Tacoma, and the year following a brand new Ranger (redesigned that is). I'm sure those will be the best when they come out, but for now, I really like the high-reving inline 5 with the Aisin short throw 5 speed manual ******, and the Bilstein sport tuned suspension. Not to mention 17"X8" rims standard! Your right about the not needing a fullsize truck, too, how often do you see fullsize pickups with their beds full of cargo these days? Exactly- No one needs that.
