Just picked up a 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera from an old lady--nice car. I'm curious if anybody else on here has had experience with either custom enclosures or mounting 5.25 woofers in the doors. As of right now, the only option I have is installing 3.5 speakers in the dash, which I doubt will give me the mid-range that I'd like. Not to mention I already own a set of Focal K2-Power 5.25 components I'd like to use. If I can't get the Focals in, I was thinking about going this route: http://www.amazon.com/Infinity-329CF-Custom-Two-Way-Speakers/dp/B0018SJ4AK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1392793409&sr=8-3&keywords=infinity+3.5 Amazon.com: Infinity 4629CFP 180W (Peak) 4 x 6 -Inch Custom Fit Two-Way Plate Speakers (Pair): Car Electronics I'll run them off of my Soundstream REF4.400 through an Alpine CDA-117 My car does not have the "Dimension" premium sound system, so the cutouts aren't in the doors. My understanding is that I can cut out the panels and mount 4x6 inch speakers in the lower doors. I would think the plate speakers would add some decent mid-range, definitely more than the 3.5s. Anybody have experience with these cars? Thanks.
