I really would like to try out an 18 inch woofer, but with my limited amount of power, and funds, i was looking at some of the "cheaper" ones. I have enough trunk space in my old boat of a car for a nice big box. I first thought about trying out a Fi Q, thinking if I was putting out 1000 to that, it would probably thump well. Then i was considering the Fi BL, because as much as I like things to sound clear, i really enjoy some slamming bass. So a bit more SPL would be much appreciated, except from what I've read the FI's are underrated, so 1000rms might not even be enough to get that pumping i was wondering. BTL out, SOLO X out. cant afford or power currently. I saw the Mach 5 18's, and they look alright, and definetely fit my budget, but i will have spare power or headroom w/ those. and w/ one of those taking less power than the 15's i got pushin now, it would b more like a downgrade. IXL-18.4 was the model i think i could handle really nicely, 800rms on the site, but i was wondering if mach 5 underrates, overrates, or is pretty on the spot w/ their ratings. Any suggestions on these subs welcome, or even some 18's i could power that i havent heard of yet. Price doesnt matter too much to me, considering I wont be buying it ne time soon, i just want to be well informed on my next decision.
