Do i want an head unit with 4v preamp outputs? if so what hu is dual with 4v and plays mp3s?

I Have a MTX 8140A 400 RMS and 800 or 1000 Peak. I blew it in less than 3 months. I was running 200 rms and 400 peak to it. It was in a small truck box so that might make a difference. I'm not a pro. I just thought that i would share my experience with you.
