ohm out the sub and see if you get a reading, if you dont then something is wrong with the sub, maybe just connections but maybe worse. if you get nothing and all the wires are connected, then turn everything on and while the music is playing push in on the sub. if you get a buzzing sound then...

set your low pass to 80 hz (you can change it to your ears once you listen for awhile), keep the gain under +3db. if youve already done all that then maybe they really cant handle it, or the amp is a POS. dont know what else to tell you.

remember that a bridged amp is usually not stable below 4 ohms, no matter what the normal impedance is. Just wire the subs togethere to 4 ohms, and hook them up in bridged, or mono, mode and that will probably get you the best results.

Anybody have any information on stereos for classic cars. I know that they make classic looking head units and stuff like that, i just dont know where to look. even just somewhere that sold install kits for old cars would help. thanks.

be careful with putting big subs in a box that will fit under your seat. that box will only fit a sub with a certain depth and a high excursion sub may be too big for the box. check the specs to make sure before you buy.

they make boxes specifically for solo barics. ive never heard of a cometition box, just a stupid term i guess. bandpass sucks for loud music so dont bother with that, it just looks cool to people who dont know what it is. a nice ported box will make the kicker sound good, or sealed will do...

are you using fused distribution blocks after the cap, if you are they should not be there. only unfused.

some amps have switch for 2 or 4 channel. you will just use one set of inputs and both sets of speaker outputs in bridged mode.

i have a 98' maxima and i have 6 3/4" comps, im pretty sure they are the same size in the newer models.

one thing to remember is that mid bass is directional unlike the bass you get out of a sub woofer which sounds almost the same from any spot in the car. the midbass will sound the best if the speakers you choose are facing your ears. 6 1/2's will probably give you want you want, 6x9's may be...

I know that there is a simple way to solve this problem which would be to buy a cap with a distribution block built in but i already have a cap so i dont want to do that. my question is should I split the power wire at the block before or after the cap?

general rule of thumb that i have heard is that to gain 3db you need to double your amp power or double your subs. Is this true or was someone just giving me bs.
