Shallow mount subs?
Try the MTX shallow woofers.....they actually have low end like a regular woofer- wooferdude

shallow mount subs that get loud??
The pioneer woofer sounds terrible. The JL woofers are really nice if you have the cash. Mtx also makes a nice shallow. it's about .5" deeper than the JL but also half the price- wooferdude

12" Shallow mount subs
MTX also makes a shallow woofer. I think it is about 3" deep. Doesn't sound bad either!- wooferdude
