    I've thrown in the towel... I picked up an iPod Classic simply to store my music files for the Alpine. It works well (160GB), but I wished the USB HDD/flash would've worked.

    You just need to get a different piece of software to format FAT32 to larger sizes. It's just a limitation in the Windows format command that keeps you from formatting larger than 32GB.
