I'm over Android Auto - single din options

So next try... I kinda like the idea of an external dac to my phone with some kind of better input to the hu. But that presents problems with finding a hub with anything other than a 3.5mm input. Or like was stated before, dump the hu all together and just dac to dsp. But I don't get radio that...

I'm over Android Auto - single din options

Well that's a big nope. I like how all their official documentation suggests that they can do this, but after installing the app and trying some more things, they have a pop-up that says audio over usb not supported after android 8.0. w.t.f. Why can't they state that somewhere useful...

You should have lead with that. :ROFLMAO: I don't use the internal amp at all, this looks like it'd do almost everything I want except the CD player. I could get over the CD player though. I just still have a lot of them laying around and I hate to see them go to waste ya know? They can still...

I'm over Android Auto - single din options

I think that's just due to fat32 being kinda the defacto standard for flash thumb drives still. not sure why they can't support other formats as well though. Car audio (head units anyways) really has just given up modernizing. Heck, NONE of these head units even support better Bluetooth...

I ended up going with the pioneer 7200. I'll update when I get to test it. I ended up buying from crutchfield as their return policy seems to be the best and cust service told me if I just bench test it they'll still accept the return if it doesn't work as required.

They replied with "Hello. Yes, you can connect the phone through USB and play music" So, maybe worth a try. Edit: didn't even notice, no CD player. Maybe asking too much these days

Ok that one has piqued my interest. I'm a little weary of the def bonce brand having never used anything from them though. Have you confirmed it'll do android audio over usb? Not just "app control"? My old Kenwood used to, but I hasn't actually worked with any phone newer than a note4. I've...

I'm over Android Auto - single din options

As the title says, I'm over Android auto/carplay and want to just go back to a single din and playing whatever audio comes out of my phone over USB. Pioneer says that they still have the capability of playing audio over usb like the old days, can anyone confirm? I have a pixel 9 pro, or a...

if my "BIG" alternator power wire shorts, will my car burn down?

If the wire shorts to ground without a fuse, it'll probably burn your junk down (assuming we're talking decent sized wire, not like 12GA or something). It'll be shorting full battery power, because that's where the other end is connected, not alt output. Put the fuse close to the battery. As...

    big 3 help

You could replace the short nut with a threaded coupling, and simply bolt it to the top of the coupling, if you don't have any interference issues. A coupling just looks like a nut, but it's 1-2" long, it's meant to join sections of threaded rod together. Many decent hardware stores have them.
