I personally don't like the HHR's and most people down here don't either, but it's got great car audio potential to be a competition vehicle.

hmmm my worst install... 4" pioneer coaxials up front, 5.25" coaxials in the rear, an eclipse SW6200 (I think?) in a 1 cube sealed box, and an MTX 250 watt 2-ch amp powering the sub, bridged. Speakers powered by my old $80 Pioneer deck. Ah those were the days.

I've purchased a single 10" icon and LOVE it. Built a box to my preference and it more than blew away my expectations off my SAZ-1500D wired down to .5 ohms when I still had that amp. I'll be purchasing another 10" or possibly a 15" ICON to play with once I pick up an AQ200D. I can only...

I've got a 10" ICON and love it tuned to 35hz, though I wish I tuned a bit lower with the box it's currently in.

I started out doing this in my corolla when I was a newbie couple years later, here I am doing all my own stuff. It's not really too hard installing everything. Just do a little research.

There's gotta be some decent shops around you. Find one with a good rep and see what they have to offer that'll be more worth that amount of money.

Phew I understand all of this so far lol. Quick question, though: is impedance rise the reason why a dual 1 sub wired down to .5 ohms nominal will run safely on a 1-ohm stable amp like this, given that I don't clip the signal and/or play songs/certain frequencies too loud?
