    Need a Box Built

I have a '98 Dodge Ram quad cab and I need a box like this to go under the rear seat but slightly larger in order to properly fit two JL 10w6v2 subs in it. All of the manufacturers of these boxes seem to make them with only 5" of mounting depth and I need right at 7" or a little bit more and at...

    Phoenix Gold RSdC 10inch subs

Awesome SQ subs that hit really low notes really clean. Just don't expect them to get loud at all. They may shake the rear view mirror a little bit but they won't be shaking any body panels loose. I had 2 12" rsd12d in a sealed box before I got my 15 L7s and there is no comparison. The 15s get...

    L7 Question

So I went a little overboard with the glue and screws?

    L7 Question

The only problem with that is "well done". This is the first box I've ever built and I'm hoping it doesn't fall apart. I used 3/4" MDF, liquid nails heavy duty construction glue, caulk around the inside seams, and screws all over the **** thing. Hopefully it will be okay.

    L7 Question

Cleaner, tighter bass instead of boomy. I had a ported box for 2 12 L7s I used to have and it was too boomy for me. Distorted more too. I'm not really looking for SQ, I'm looking for clean, distortion free SPL. I'm thinking that 2 15s in a large sealed box will be what I'm looking for. Besides...

    L7 Question

Only 1200 for now until I can afford a 2000+ watt amp. It is a JBL GTO 1201.1 mono amp.

    L7 Question

Sorry for posting this in two places but it wasn't getting any responses in the enclosure section. I have 2 15L7 D4s and I will be putting them in a sealed box. Kicker lists the enclosure volume for the 15 as follows: Min 1.5 cuft. Max 6 cuft. My box will give them 4.4 cuft. per sub. What...

    Simple Question

Here is what I have in my current setup with my PG rsd12d subs. Maybe I need to move this to the subwoofer section to get a little more traffic. This section is SLOW. Qts = .55 Vas = 3.39 ft3 Fs = 22.4 Hz Vb = 1.9 ft3 Qtc = .9177 Fc = 37.38 Hz F3 - 30.66 Hz

    Simple Question

Well here is what I got from a QTC calculator. I'm not sure what it all means but maybe you guys will be able to tell me. Qts = .507 Vas = 5.2 (ft3) Fs Hertz = 26.3 Vb (ft3) = 4.4 Qtc = .7489 Fc = 38.85 Hertz F3 = 36.8 Hertz Does that mean that the box/sub will perform the best at around...

    Simple Question

I have 2 15L7 D4s and I will be putting them in a sealed box. Kicker lists the enclosure volume for the 15 as follows: Min 1.5 cuft. Max 6 cuft. My box will give them 4.4 cuft. per sub. What sound/performance difference will there be with 4.4 compared to 1.5 and 6? I can't seem to find this...

    Loud But With SQ Too?

Exactly. I thought I was looking for "SQ" and that is why I bought the rsd12d PGs. It turns out that while they have great SQ, they are nowhere near loud enough. That is why I mentioned "clean" as in no distortion but loud. I truly think that is what I'm looking for. I want the subs to hit the...

    Loud But With SQ Too?

After trying the rsd12d Phoenix Gold subs for SQ, I realize that SQ is not all I'm after. I'm glad I only paid $80 a piece for them because they don't get anywhere near loud enough for me. The SQ is borderline excellent but they are barely loud enough to shake the mirrors before distorting. So...

    precision power subs ppi

What about the new 10 and 12 PRO subs? Are they still as good as the subs they made 9-10 years ago? Or better? I'd love to get a pair of 12s. http://www.precisionpower.com/subwoofers/PROseries.asp#specifications They look almost exactly like the old ones I used to hear. If they sound the same...
