Face it folks. Some people are willfully stupid with no hope of redemption.

    my job is killing me

Your unintelligible cryptic responses indicate a bipolar issue... perhaps severe ADHD. If you cannot clearly elaborate your thoughts (because you assume everyone has your precise experiences and thought processes ~assuming we can read your mind~) then don't offer "personal" advice to anyone... ever.

    my job is killing me

I didn't read all the posts in this thread... but I'll state this... Finding the right balance is a bee-awtch!! I worked 80-120 hour weeks for years and still lost my family. Why? Because I was desperately trying to give them the STUFF they needed (wanted)... and I FAILED to give of myself...

8 inch sub in small sealed box.

A couple of good sealed 8's in a vehicle is plenty for me... but I'm trying to keep what hearing I have left.

Better oversized enclosure than undersized, IMO. Not more or less bass... just different bass. You need to tune the woofer with the box to best fit the environment they'll be used in and what best suits your personal taste... and EQ if necessary. No ten inch drivers will sound decent up to 4KHz...

Looks like about .22 ft3 for each driver provides a Qtc of .707 and this provides a F3 of about 68Hz. The driver you linked to should work fine but you probably should use two in each box you built.

8 inch sub in small sealed box.

No, I mean .18 ft3. Makes for a Qtc of .707 and a F3 of 66Hz. Should be a very good match for most vehicles after considering 12dB/octave cabin gain below 70Hz or so.

BTW, I tried to link to the driver I suggested but the page opens "blank". Why?? Try parts-express.com and search for W8-740P

What about a Tang Band W8-740P? Proper box volume is about .18 ft3 for a Qtc of .7

need info on old school soundstream amps

Class A 50 II Manual Rubicon 502 Manual Selling prices are all over the place... check eBay sold listings. The "Class A" isn't true class A as (I think) no car audio amps are. It does have a slightly higher bias and this does seem to make a difference. The Class A amps are a tiny bit smoother...
