Personally for the money, you get more tuning abilty with the pioneer units, than the alpine's. Alpine's Bass Engine Pro tuning was good, but they don't offer it in any new HU's, only the DVA-9965, btw MSRP is $1600. You can get almost the same if not better tuning capability with a Pioneer...

You'll have to buy the separate TV Tuner. The model listed in the install manual is the GEX-P6400TV, but thats discontinued. I think the current model is the GEX-P5700TV. If you go to Pioneers website, and download the install manual, it shows a system diagram. Hope this helps.
