I know the 05 decks have a different plug on the HU side. I haven't seen one on the amp side. It leads me to believe that they are (I just checked Crutchfield, it's a different looking plug for the new amp models... less pins)

Sorry for the late reply, but in order to hook up your alpine amps, you need to buy an Amplifier Link cable. My main amp doesn't have amplink, only the mono amp.I *DO* know that the 9855 uses a diff connector to go with the new 05 Amps, so my MRD-M501 doesn't plug into it or something like...

How difficult is it to install one of these? I saw that the 05 Alpine units allow you to use what looks like a phono plug and it seems much easier to do.

9835 has DC/DC audio converter, and a couple other things the 9833 does not have. I don't believe it's just the face.

Bill-did you use iPersonalize to set these values? When I set 100hz should it be 0 or -12, in both cases, it says out of range? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bill..can you please post your sub values for me so I can program them in? Also, would you mind sending me your Crossover values that you programmed with iPersonalize (if you did)??

For those of you that have these hooked up to an Alpine amp, how do you change the settings on the HU of the amp? I can only see voltage/amps/temp right now by hittling the display button a few times. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I can't find it in any manual!

Ok.. two support calls, and found out you HAVE to run the Alpine Unit through the front, not on the tail end. So I took apart half my dash and got it in there somehow XM is amazing!

I'm THIS close to returning all this XM crap. 3 Alpine Smart Adapters and 2 Universal Tuners.. and NONE of them are working with my 9835... I think Sirius here I come..

I don't get it, I get the 0,1 and 247 channels, and I'm not hearing ANYTHING on any of them.. it's just silence. Has anyone had this happen, and if so, how do you go about fixing it? I called them to "Reinit" my tuner, but it didntt work.

considerable difference.. went from headunit (OEM BOSE crap) to 9835

I've been running my LOC for about 8-9 months now, and I'm doing my audio conversion tommorow to my gear with all RCA preouts for all channels. Is there a noticeable sound improvement going with RCAs over a LOC? I have been using a 4 channel Dave Navonne LOC.

LOC's are pretty good.. I use a 4 channel right now in my G35 (though I'm swapping my dash and everything tommorow) but I like my Navonne LOC.. Dave Navonne is one of the best guys in the business.. honest.. and VERY helpful with any questions you may have. He's highly regarded in the car audio...

Bill-are you using the KCE-510M? I bought it to control the 501 through the 9835. Should the gain be left at 0? I know you don't want to go full blast, but shouldn't it be 1/3 or so?
